ROL Hand Roll Bar is another popular addition to the Kei Concepts lineup. This location was in Huntington Beach and I liked how their wait wasn't as long compared to their Fountain Valley location. They have a parking lot with ample spots available, which are 1 hour spots only, although you only really need an hour here. When you walk in you'll notice that it's definitely the dark and modern aesthetic. It's a very intimate setting, especially if you sit at their bar seating. They have tables/booths available as well but I don't see this being a good spot if you have a large group coming in. As this was our first time, our server recommended their set menus in addition to their popular crispy rice tartare. Our server was super attentive of us, always checking in, making sure we had enough of everything, and super nice! We ended up getting the 6 piece set, the tartare, Tokyo Breeze, and Oni. The crispy rice tartare comes with 3 pieces and it was perfectly crispy with a good amount of tartare placed on top! They are small bites but it's a nice appetizer to start the meal. The 6 piece comes with a wide variety of fishes and everything was very fresh. Now I will say that the rolls were pretty basic, like the first roll being just rice and salmon or some sort of combination plus a sauce. If you love hand rolls then this is a great spot to check out! If you're not so keen on it, then maybe try one of their other locations. The 6 pieces was a decent amount, we left feeling satisfied but not full. But the drinks were incredible! My Tokyo Breeze was so good, with the perfect amount of foam from the egg whites, and unique combination of fruity flavors. The Oni was also so good as they add a smoked element to the cocktail. I really liked how the aftertaste gave off a smokey walnut taste to it too! Overall this was a nice dining experience. I'd like to come back and try their lunch bowls one day!

Kei concept did it again! Great food and service and it's very consistent with their restaurants. Makes you want to be part of the winning team The rolls come in a la cart of in sets of 5, 6, or 7 Looks small but very filling , love the crunch of the nori... still hungry, other great options are available.

The food and service is amazing! We sat at the bar both times and the roll comes out fresh. The seaweed is nice and warm and crispy. The fish was very fresh. My favorite rolls are the one with the crispy onion. They offered to make a fresh one when the roll sat there for too long - which can make the seaweed soggy. We also got the Kaisendon which was amazing. It was $19 for a big bowl. They also top it off with soup to finish it off. We didn't like the soup in the bowl so we got it on the side the second time. The soup is not hot enough so when it goes into the bowl it is just room temp soup with rice and raw fish. I prefer my soup hot. We packed the rest to go and asked for the sauce to go. They packed us a new one instead and was charge $2 for the sauce. If they told us it was $2 I would have just asked them to packed the one we already have left over.
